Winter Jam 2012 At Toyota Center In Houston, TX

on March 27, 2012 - 12:35pm

"Things heated up when alt-metal headliners Skillet took the stage. If you never thought you would see a lead singer/bassist John Cooper dressed in a tux gone slightly goth, his wife Kerry Cooper dressed like Amy Lee in addition to pyrotechnics and fireworks at a christian rock concert, you are dead wrong. Skillet’s John Cooper Professes His Love for ’80s Music

on February 28, 2012 - 11:28am

Cooper also professed his love for ‘80s metal and rock– real-deal guys like Metallica, Bon Jovi

"So many rock bands feel like they have a reputation they have to uphold," said John Cooper, the band's lead singer and bassist. "They have the ‘sex, drugs and rock ‘n' roll' image and they think that if they tour with a Christian band, it may make them look bad or hurt their image. But some bands don't care if you believe differently from them, they just want to hear people who enjoy making music. We are still able to sing about what we feel passionate about and be true to ourselves, and at the same time we aren't turning audiences off. We don't come across as judgmental."
