FLYLEAF KICKS OFF FIRST HEADLINING TOUR MARCH 25

Texas-based rockers team with World Vision to bring the Justice & Mercy Tour

with Skillet and others across the US

(February 5, 2007 – Nashville, TN)  What better way to celebrate the Gold-selling certification of your self-titled debut album than to head out your first headlining tour?  With a devout fan base firmly in place, the heralded Austin-based band Flyleaf will embark on a headlining tour kicking off in Memphis, Tennessee on March 25th. Atlantic/Lava/Ardent/SRE hard rockers Skillet have been tapped to support the band throughout the tour following the release of their best-selling project, COMATOSE, along with Dropping Daylight, Resident Hero and others supporting in select markets.  Tickets everywhere go on sale Saturday, February 10th, but an exclusive fan presale will begin Tuesday, February 6th at 3pm local time (details available at http://tixx1.artistarena.com/flyleaf/ Username: Flyleaf Password: Tickets).

Calling it the “Justice & Mercy Tour” holds special significance, since the band is teaming with World Vision to offer fans a limited-edition four song EP (available exclusively on the road) and a specially designed t-shirt.  All proceeds for both items will benefit World Vision, which provides worldwide aid to those in need (for more info, visit www.worldvision.org).

Flyleaf – vocalist/lyricist Lacey Mosley, guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, bassist Pat Seals, and drummer James Culpepper – have been playing together since 2002, though misleadingly diminutive singer Mosley, Bhattacharya and Hartmann hooked up in 2001.  Over the past few years Flyleaf has garnered an extremely loyal fan base, which they credit to constant, touring. Their success is also fueled by an EP released in 2004, followed by their Octone/J Records debut album, released in October 2005.  FLYLEAF has spawned two powerful singles, “I’m So Sick” and “Fully Alive” both of which were played on major market active rock radio, modern rock radio, MTV 2, Fuse and initially Yahoo Music.  Flyleaf has also had national television exposure performing their recent single “Fully Alive” on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, CD USA, and NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly. Released to the Christian market through SRE Recordings, Flyleaf has been embraced by radio and media.  On Christian Rock radio, all three radio singles have broke into the top 10 (“I’m So Sick,” “All Around Me,” “Fully Alive”) with two No. 1s.  Flyleaf has also received acclaim from CCM Magazine, Relevant, Stars & Stripes Military Paper, ChristianMusicToday.com, Brio and CBN.com.

 .

Skillet’s explosive, critically-acclaimed and best-selling new Lava/Atlantic Records release, COMATOSE, follows the band’s 2004 Lava/Atlantic top-selling debut, Collide, which launched the group into the public eye with the single “Savior” and garnered the quartet a prestigious Grammy Award nomination.  COMATOSE's first Christian Rock and radio single, "Rebirthing" was a smash hit, spending eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Rock, and currently at No. 4 and still climbing at CHR. Their first single at Mainstream Active Rock radio, "Whispers In the Dark," was the second most added single two weeks in a row, and their newest single, "The Older I Get," was just released to the Mainstream, Active and Alternative Rock formats this week and is already being spun on top market stations in Houston, Memphis, Sarasota, Richmond, and Philadelphia.   Skillet closed out 2006 as one of the most lauded groups in the industry with COMATOSE garnering "best of" reader's poll results with ChristianityToday/ ChristianMusicToday.com, CBN Music.com, MusicFaith.com, About.com, and ConcertLivewire.com, as well as lead singer John Cooper being named favorite bassist by HM Magazine and CCM magazine, with the remaining band members being named favorite guitarist, drummer and keyboardist by CCM readers.  Skillet and COMATOSE have also received critical acclaim from mainstream outlets such as Billboard, Metal Edge and The New York Times.
