EXCLUSIVE ITUNES EP NOW AVAILABLE PLUS MSN VIDEO MAIN PAGE EXPOSURE
With an incredible response from fans, media, and radio listeners alike, it is no surprise that the rock band Skillet continues to pave the way to the top with their current release COMATOSE. Here is just a sampling of what continues to build with Skillet:
- Heating up at Christian CHR and Rock radio is the new single “The Last Night,” receiving the most adds for the past two weeks and charting this week at No. 22 on R&R and No. 13 at CRW. Recognizing that this song will soon be at the top of the charts, WayFM Nashville music director Stace Whitmire shares, “Skillet’s ‘The Last Night’ is No. 1 with both demos. It’s a hit for us!”
- Their newest mainstream single, "The Older I Get," was just released to the mainstream rock formats three weeks ago and is already being played in the top markets including Detroit, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Memphis, Richmond, and Philadelphia. In total, the powerful single is spinning on 42 Active Rock and Modern Rock stations.
- Last week the 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards’ nominations were announced and COMATOSE was nominated for “Rock Album of the Year” as well as their song “Rebirthing” for “Rock Recorded Song of the Year,” which remained at No.1 on Christian Rock for more than eight weeks. Echoing the nominations, fans have been voting Skillet at the top in multiple readers’ polls most recently on JesusFreakHideout.com as “Album of the Year,” “Hard Rock Album of the Year,” and “Song of the Year” (“Rebirthing”). Skillet closed out 2006 as one of the most lauded groups in the industry with COMATOSE garnering "best of" results with ChristianityToday/ChristianMusicToday.com, CBNMusic.com, MusicFaith.com, About.com, and ConcertLivewire.com, as well as lead singer John Cooper being named favorite bassist by HM Magazine and CCM magazine, with the remaining band members being named favorite guitarist, drummer and keyboardist by CCM readers.
Skillet’s explosive, critically-acclaimed and best-selling new Lava/Atlantic/INO/Ardent Records release, COMATOSE, follows the band’s 2004 Lava/Atlantic/INO/Ardent Records top-selling debut, Collide, which launched the group into the public eye with the single “Savior” and garnered the quartet a prestigious Grammy Award nomination. COMATOSE's first Christian Rock and radio single, "Rebirthing" was a smash hit, spending eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Rock. Their first single at Mainstream Active Rock radio, "Whispers In the Dark," was the second most added single two weeks in a row. Skillet and COMATOSE have also received critical acclaim from mainstream outlets such as Billboard, Metal Edge and The New York Times.
