My best friend passed away last year..she was only 14 and it was..beyond hard for me. we were like twins. i'm struggling with depression, and this song is helps me when i feel especially sad about her. it makes me feel like im not the only one going through this.

After a few weeks they went to a counselor because they felt so guilty. the councelor gave them three peices of advice: to hold a funeral for the baby girl, tell thier parents and get a gravestone for her, and to name the child. They named her Lucy.

Beautiful song! Love it! I researched the inspiration behind the song (I hope it is true). Found out the song is about a young couple who found themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. The couple chose an abortion. They had a dfficult time afterward and sought the help of a therapist. The therapist suggested they name the baby (Lucy) and give her a grave. Now the lyrics are even more powerful after this knowledge.
