Who said I hate them? I don't. I've been following them for years and have been a fan of them, but their music isn't like it used to be when I was young. They've changed. If they claim to be Christian and want to follow God, their music should scream the gospel. Also, them going on tour with secular bands isn't good for other believers to have to go to those concerts just to see them sing. I just don't think that bands like slip knot isn't a good example for people. And it does matter if songs have curse words. The bible speaks about watching your words Eph. 5:4: "Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving." & James 1:26: "If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless." & Eph. 4:29: "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." So if it so important to watch your words, don't you think it is important to watch what you listen to? Can you honestly say that Jesus would tell you: "You don't have to worry about cuss words or other such nonsense...It doesn't have any affect on you" on the contrary, Jesus said to be in the world but not of it. If you are using the same workds as the world and acting like the world, how would the world see you as different from them? Yes Skillet is better than other music and it isn't bad to listen to, but they used to be so up front about their faith and now they are different. Rock music isn't from the devil though, but studies have shown that different kinds of music do affect people's bodies and minds. Music can affect you positively or negatively.
I do like their new music. I have all their cds. Im talking about the message. Its alot more watered down than before. I watched those vids. First one, still vague to me. Second one, thats great, but theres an awful lot of people out there who think Forgiven is about a cheater in a relationship who confesses and is forgiven. People are not getting the true meaning of these songs. I dont hate Skillet, it just saddens me who they have become.
When I was playing Smackdown vs raw in play station I heard MONSTER AND ARTIST NAME:SKILLET then I went to you tube and skillet I heard Hero and falling inside the black and I became Their fan.MY sister is 7 she loves skillet so much She loves whispers in the dark and awake and alive and we love 30 seconds to mars too

cool :) haven't tried that program yet. I've been using google chrome lately and its been faster for me here. but then again sometimes I use the computer at work and google chrome won't load anything on skillet.com. Strange, huh?
