Being Baptised is when you are submerged into a pool of water by a Baptist. (person whose job it is to baptise) It symbolizes all of your sin being washed away and welcomed into God's community.

I agree with you; being Baptised just signifies the fact that you're a follower of God. It's like putting on a hat that says "I LOVE JESUS!" and wearing it every day. You don't have to get baptised to be saved.
