"We don't change for our crowds," Cooper said during a recent telephone interview. "We are who we are. We're an established act, and people know what they're getting when they come to one of our shows. People relate to our music. It's a good thing that we're a pretty straight-up rock act." However, he admitted: "Our band does have two sides, and our fans diverge in age from 5 to grandma age. We have a genuine old-school-rocker and young-fan following. ... It's good to play a tour like WinterJam, though, where we can play to the full spectrum of our fans. It's popular, too. The pay-at-the-door WinterJam tour is easily filling 20,000-capacity arenas. It's great for families. There's everything from rap to rock and everything in between." he said.

And they're ready to roll into one of their favorite cities together, too. "Tulsa is in my top three of favorite cities to play," Cooper said. "The fans are just the best. The biggest crowd we had on our last major tour (2009) was in Tulsa. We really are excited about this show."  The band's also ready to head into the studio for its first full studio album since 2009, too - as soon as they finish this 50-city tour. They hope for a fall release. It will be their eighth studio album, he said.

Skillet, what happened to you? Do not forget, Jesus is coming and He will get those who have strayed from their paths. These images, how the shows have been. Do not forget IT'S ALL THE GLORY TO GOD. Do not forget where you came out and who exalted. Our God is what gives and what it takes, nothing happens without his permission. DO NOT LEAVE THE WAYS OF GOD I'm just a Brazilian who felt in their hearts full of defects and failures to say it. Than worth the man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul. What is worth all the success, glory, fame, and not in this life to receive eternal life. God bless you, do not forget the God who created you and saved you. Jesus loves them.

we have been dihard skillet fans since ""saturn has a ring around it " time etc.. and now our kids are enjoying (understatement) your music as well. we've seen lots of your shows love them all. i agree with the other comment from witchita that the show was awesome with color coordinations etc.. appreciate your testimony for Christ. However, even though i love your monster song because i feel i can relate to what you are talking about on the song . i interpret it as a battle of the flesh ??? i didn't care for the new rep. of the song. it really misrep what the song was about. really reminded me of my iron maiden days when they brought out eddie. don't think you want that association. what does light have to do with darkness. since that was my background drugs etc and living in darkness. it made us feel uncomfortable and we've never felt that way with one of your rocking shows. just a bit of concern there. not sure if your production is resp for that or what. not a good call. love ya'll keep serving Him! your faithful fans, praying for you guys. see you at rock the light

Wow, this is like--what?--the fourth or fifth time John Cooper has been interviewed since the start of Winterjam back in January? Seriously, Skillet was already one of the more established acts in Christian (and mainstream) rock music before this current tour, but honestly, I believe Winterjam has given them even more publicity than before--publicity they really needed. I've seen them perform twice in my home state now, and I am already hoping to see them again...perhaps once they launch a new tour for a new album later this fall. Keep rockin' for Jesus... WVPanhead

Winter Jam 2012!!!! You ROCKED Tulsa!!! What a great night with my daughter. She is your newest biggest fan. February 25, 2012 will be a date that we will never forget!!!! Such a positive experience with her for her first REAL concert. I only wish that I would have been able to get her your MONSTER t-shirt that was offered at the Winter Jam show. UGH!!! Maybe next time. Keeping it real.... TulsansRock.

Skillet rocked Wichita, KS last night. Loved your new stage presence with the coordinated black and white outfits, complete with Corey's harlequin mask, Jen's blowing red hair and John's suit and tie! Why dont more rock bands do this?! You totally ***R-O-C-K-E-D***! You had the crowd on their feet the minute you hit the stage and wide awake long after the show was over. Your energy and enthusiasm permeated every single person there and set US on fire! Loved the comment that we were 'a bunch of rowdy Jesus freaks' last night. Your banter with the crowd and phenomenal show will long be remembered. Hurry back, Skillet!
