"So many rock bands feel like they have a reputation they have to uphold," said John Cooper, the band's lead singer and bassist. "They have the ‘sex, drugs and rock ‘n' roll' image and they think that if they tour with a Christian band, it may make them look bad or hurt their image. But some bands don't care if you believe differently from them, they just want to hear people who enjoy making music. We are still able to sing about what we feel passionate about and be true to ourselves, and at the same time we aren't turning audiences off. We don't come across as judgmental."

"We toured with Papa Roach on a co-headlining tour. They didn't come up to us and say ‘Hey, you can't talk about Jesus when you're on stage,' and we didn't say to them ‘Hey, you guys can't cuss during the show.' We could do whatever we wanted and they could do whatever they wanted. It's a mutual respect."

Skillet, a world-famous rock band, and I am Muslim very good lyrics, this group a very nice word to your songs. No need to add the words of a Christian song. because: Muslim countries, is also very famous singer...

Awesome that they're not letting their popularity change how they write their message of hope and keep reaching people for Christ!

I'm a mother of 2 teenage boys who live in 2 very different worlds. My 14 year old son is an amazing, god fearing, incredible young man and my 12 year old son is a sweet, loving, and beautiful boy who happens to be autistic. Although their worlds are different, Daniel with youth group, sports, and friends he always makes the time to spend with his little brother, Noah, in Noah's world. One of the things they share is their love for this band. Noah does not say many words but he will sing and loves music. When I bought the AWAKE CD for Daniel he immediately threw it in the CD player on the way home. This was the first time Noah had heard Skillet and he fell in love. You have to understand that Noah very rarely talks so when he asked Daniel to play "Monster" again we were very excited. Now we listen to the CD everyday in the car and my boys are, for a little while, in the same world. Your music is such a blessing to me because while you are singing my boys are smiling and jamming and for those moments I don't see their differences I see brothers. Thank you and God bless you all.

Really? That's awesome! I love Papa Roach as well I love Skillet! It's great to hear that you guys got along and respect each other. And I agree that if you love making music then that's all that matters. I don't know if you toured with other bands like As I lay Dying or Three Days Grace but it would be great that you have because I love their music too!!

I was so blessed to take my daughter and her friend to see you in Reno with Papa Roach (YOU PLAYING WAS THE ONLY WAY SHE TALKED ME INTO IT lol) and it was AMAZING! SOOO WORTH GOING! AND YES, being who you are and in the midst of, well, the world, it was sooo GOD! I LOVED IT! I am now waiting for you to get back on the West Coast to take my youngest son (who I didn't let go before) and let him see it's ok to let others be themselves as long as we remember who we are. To hear the F bomb, and some colorfull music and then the Love of God come all over the room when you guys came on and ROCKED IT...still in awe! Thank you for being you and sharing your gifts!

I love God. He's my Father. And Jesus, His Son, Who is the Christ, is my Hero and my King. I also happen to really like rock n roll ! I think it's fantastic that I'm able to hear music that not only rocks and is enjoyable, but is also coming from people who feel the same way. And I praise God for this.

I agree with this, but I have to say that music is out there for people to connect with. Whether it's Christian or not. People need to be able to connect with the bands. I connect with Skillet because their music has helped me through the hard times I've been through. I love you guys SO much and I would give anything to be able to sit down with yall and talk. Yall are my heroes. :)

what drew me more in depth to you guys, is that you care about your image that you live, and the NOT being judgemental is a severe plus to me,.... i have stepped away from going to a church because of judgemental people , and what hurts when i have attended them , is when people going there refuse to accept groups like you, or out of church activities we do on our own, i love horror flicks, and as a kid was traumatised by people my parents trusted to watch me ,.. by being scared senseless as a tiny child, i became determined to NOT be afraid of things like scary movies that the rest of the world always talked about being afraid of watching,.... as i grew in my teens, i learned there were real things like demons, spirits, ghosts, and things we dont hear much about it churches , but the over-all thing is to stay close to God , and as for if you ever come in contact with them in real life circumstances you will know what God believing people to talk to or discuss these things with , but MAKE SURE you keep God in your life, and study the bible quite regularly , because many things can be learned by in depthness .... i highly appreciate you guys for not being judgemental, and being "human" ... cause most people try to be more religious than Godly, and if HE accepts us as we are,... so should they ,... = )

The 'sex, drugs and rock'n' roll' image just makes the music different, and after my taste worse :D A christian band like Skillet gives us a lot better music, and their songs gets much more meaningfull lyrics. ;)
