Who is this song addressed to? I can't figure out for sure! If it's written to a person who was abusive, or someone who we feel has hurt us it describes what happens in our hearts when we are hurt, and let it become so deeply rooted in our hearts that it turns into bitterness. Pointing fingers doesn't change the fact that we were hurt. The only answer is to let Jesus be our healer, and help us to forgive those who hurt us! That's what gives us freedom to truly live again!
