I saw an ad in a secular drum magazine saying "Jen Ledger of Skillet uses Vic Firth!" I thought that Skillet must be awesome, if secular drum magazines have an ad with their drummer. So, I purchased the Platinum Collection. (Impulsive, I know). I fell in love with it! The rest is history.
First time I heard a recorded
First time I heard a recorded song by them was on this CD called Fuze: Music To Ignite The Soul. It was a collection of Christian "spiritual awakenening" songs that my family got from a church garage sale. Te third track was Comatose. Even thought I had never listened to rock music before, and I couldnt understand one word to the song, I fell in love instantly and played it over and over in the car... (until my dad turned it off...My dad hated it :p )
Later, in July 2010, my close friend showed me the music video for Monster. It was because Skillet was coming to perform at Creation NW that week in our hometown... I really didnt like the video that much... But I looked up some Skillet lyrics that night to take with me to the concert... While they were singin (I'm serious, this is a true story xD ) I squinted in the dark to follow along because I couldnt understand without the words... But that concert was the greatest thing I had ever experienced...
And my heart was stolen from that night on... <3
I discovered Skillet on
I discovered Skillet on accident one night back in 2007. I was lying in bed listening to a radio station called 88.1 Way FM. My favorite person to listen to was Wally. Anyway, the song "The Last Night" came on and I instantly fell in love with the band. When he announced the name of the band I jumped out of bed and looked up more songs by them. I've been a huge fan ever since. That was over 6 years ago.

my sister bought Comatose and played it in the car i didn't really like that (WHAT WAS I THINKING) but i Listened to it later (when I actually liked rock) and had them as my second favorite band but then i listened to Collide stopped listening to any other band for about a year

I was a HUGE Tobymac fan a while (still am) but the first concert I ever went to, was the Awake Tonight tour in New Orleans. Skillet was the second act, and when Toby came up I couldn't stop thinking about Skillet!!!!! Haha:) After that they've been my fav band of all-time ever since:)
I found them on Christian Rock Hits X2009 I listened to Live Free Or Let Me Die and thought it was awesome then watched the live version of Comatose (Song) and decided I really wanted to find out more so I went and bought some cds and it all started from there

My little brother got this Guitar Praise game for christmas back in 2009, and three skillet songs were on there and so I looked them up and found more stuff of them. Been playing nonstop ever since :)

I was at my youth group about 2 yrs ago at my church and we were talking about music. One of the guys in my youth group mentioned Skillet and that they were a Christian rock band. I've loved their music ever since.

I heard about them in 2010 on the radio when I heard about the Awake Tonight tour. They played a small part of "Hero" and "Awake and Alive" on the radio so on Christmas I bought those songs off of itunes and eventually bought the whole album. And now I'm here.
