Hi everyone, I would like to start my own band with me and my friends but I have no idea how to do that. Can you give me some pointers? Some of my major problems are what to name the band, what kind of budget do you need for a band like skillet (if that's not to personal), what are the main instruments that you NEED to get the band going, how many band members do you need, how do you connect with other bands, how to find a publisher, were to get the best drum set for a reasonable price, how you mix music and other things like that. Can you help?
Well... I've got tree people so far. I was hoping to do the drums and my second cousin was going to do the guitar. His friend also wanted to join (yes, he is the third person) and I was wondering what he could do. THREEHUNDRED, you suggest he do the bass? okay. I will tell him! thanks. Any ideas for a name? I have been thinking, but all my names have been lame and nobody else can think of anything.
I'm in a band as well, BARE minimum you need a guitarist, bassist, and a drummer. One can take the vocal duties (preferably not the drummer). You can record music on an iPhone/iPod with the Garageband app, the quality can be pretty good if you get it right! Foo Fighter's latest album 'Wasting Light' was all done in a garage recorded with a laptop, and one of it's songs won a grammy! Check Guitar Center for a used drum set.
well l am in a band so to connect to other bands go on local websites like myspace , facebook, Twitter put ur band on there and just try to make friends now to look for a publisher you have to find somebody with the right price and is willing to take you in after you make your own EP album (self made album recorded) u have to have a EP first just to see where you music is going and if you like your own message in your music to find out how to do an EP u need alot of equip so i suggest you work on you budget before thinking on publishing anything and also practice alot !!
